Things to do in Page, Arizona in September 2026

September is the month locals quietly wait for.

The monsoon storms taper off. The 100 degree afternoons ease into high 80s and 90s. The summer crowds head back to school, and the light gets that long low quality that makes red rock look like it is lit from inside. Tour slots that were impossible in July start opening up.

If you have flexibility about when you visit Page, this is one of the two or three best months of the year.

Here is what is on.

Events

Outdoor Market on Elm. Second and fourth Saturday of every month, which in September means the 12th and the 26th, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. [1] Local vendors, food, makers, and the easiest way to meet actual Page residents rather than other visitors. Worth an hour. The city has also advertised a 9 a.m. start on occasion, so if you turn up at ten it will already be going.

Stargazing at Horseshoe Bend. The city ran one of these on the evening of August 13. Nothing further is posted for September yet, so do not build a night around it, but it is worth a look at events.cityofpage.org while you are here. If one runs, go. Page has very little light pollution, and standing at that rim after dark is a different experience entirely from the daytime version.

Oktoberfest, Page Lake Powell. Beer garden, live music, barrel racing, and a brat eating competition, which is exactly as fun as it sounds. It has landed near the end of September in past years, but there is nothing on the city calendar for 2026 as we write this, so we are not going to tell you it is happening. Check events.cityofpage.org before you plan a weekend around it. [2]

Looking ahead: the Balloon Regatta, November 5 to 8. Page's biggest weekend of the year, and rooms across town book up well in advance. If you are reading this in September and thinking about November, now is the time.[3]

Conditions this month

Weather. Warm days, genuinely cool mornings and evenings. Bring a layer for sunrise at Horseshoe Bend. The monsoon usually winds down through mid September, but a late storm is still possible.

Antelope Canyon. The light beams in Upper fade out in early October, so September is your last real month for them. Midday slots are still the ones that sell first, though availability is easier than midsummer. If you are booking now for a fall trip, our guide to booking lead times has the month by month windows. Lake Powell. The lake sits around 3,518 feet, about 22 percent of capacity, and it typically continues to decline through fall. Boat tours, kayaking, and swimming are all running normally. The Wave. September is a good month to try. The daily lottery requires you to be physically inside the geofenced area, and Page is inside it, so multiple nights in town means multiple entries. Here is how both lotteries work.

What is new at The Wesley

Two things worth saying plainly.

Renovated rooms are open and bookable right now, and more come online every few weeks. We are not going to print a room count, because it changes faster than a blog post can keep up. What is true is that the number goes up steadily and it has all summer.

Our Grand Opening is September 25, 2026. That date is set.

We will also be honest, since we have been honest about everything else here: this has taken longer and cost more than we planned. Restoring a building that started life as the Page Boy Motel in the early 1960s turns out to involve a lot of surprises behind a lot of walls. The Grand Opening is later than we first hoped. We would rather say that out loud than quietly move a date and hope nobody notices. This town has seen enough signs advertising things that were not there anymore.
